This wooden chessboard combines walnut and maple inlay with a double lacquer finish and a black border, giving it a clean tournament look for play at home or on any hard, level surface.
Tournament-size board
The board measures 52 × 52 cm, with 55 × 55 mm squares. That makes it suitable for Staunton No. 6 and No. 7 pieces, as well as imported chess pieces measuring 3.75–4 inches. Most tournament boards use squares in the 50–58 mm range.
The playing area is set off from the outer edge by a black border. Four felt pads on the underside help keep the board stable on a table, desk or other hard, flat surface.
If you want a matching set of pieces, the German (Timeless) pieces in 3.75" are a natural pairing for this board.
